FAQs

Yes! You will get some “sea spray” on our Kauai tours. If you’re upfront on the boat, you’ll get more of it. But don’t worry, the covered cabin area is the driest spot.

The Na Pali coast is one of the world’s jaw-dropping wonders! With its cliffs, valleys, and caves formed over thousands of years, It is the gem of Kauai. You won’t want to miss it!

Niihau is a private island, so you can’t land there, but that’s part of its charm! With hardly any rainfall, the waters around Niihau are some of the clearest and cleanest in Hawaii – making it a great spot for snorkeling and diving!
Yes! All our boats have restrooms. Our catamarans have two on the deck, and the Leila has two in the hull. Our adventure rafts have one restroom each, so you’ll have everything you need on board.
We don’t recommend snorkeling for non-swimmers. Most of our snorkel spots are overhead deep, so you can’t wade or stand at the bottom. Safety first!
Humpback whale season is from November to March. They don’t have a schedule, so you might see them at any time of day. Sometimes, we even get lucky and see other types of whales throughout the year!
Water temperatures vary slightly throughout the year but are usually around 70 degrees. Perfect for a swim!
We recommend wearing a swimsuit for our snorkel tours (and don’t forget a towel and dry clothes for after!). Wetsuits aren’t needed on Kauai, but if you get cold easily, you can rent or buy one from a local shop – we don’t provide wetsuits.
The Holo Holo can carry 49 passengers, the Leila can carry 37, and our adventure rafts can carry 25 passengers.
On our morning snorkel tours, we serve breakfast after we leave the harbor and lunch after snorkeling. On our sunset tour, we lay out a buffet of “heavy appetizers” after we get to our turnaround spot on Na Pali and head back down the coast.
Our captains are experts on Kauai’s weather and ocean conditions. If they have any concerns they’ll stop by the office after check-in to let you know. You can always reschedule or cancel at no charge if needed.
It’s a possibility, especially if you’re prone to motion sickness. If you’re unsure, bring some over-the-counter meds – better safe than sorry!
Yes! Everyone consuming alcohol will need to show a photo ID. We can’t serve drinks to anyone who can’t show one upon request.
We’ve been offering tours since 1998 and are the original creators of “The Na Pali and Niihau Snorkel Tour.” We’re the only company that offers the Niihau tour daily, and our entire fleet is built right here in Hawaii by our owner. In other words, you’re in good hands with us!
