While Hawaii may be known best for adventurers and couples, it is also a great vacation spot for families. Hawaii is made up of many small islands, each of which offers a very different experience and view to its guests.
There’s a lot to do in Hawaii. Each Hawaiian island has something different to offer to everyone. And honestly, you really can’t cover the entire Hawaii while just staying on one island.
To make things easier for you, we have categorized the resorts under each island so you don’t have to keep looking for the best resorts everywhere on the internet.
If you are confused about where to stay, we have listed the best family resorts in Hawaii where you can stay comfortably and enjoy your time.
Best Hawaii Resorts For Families On Oahu
It’s obvious that if you are planning to visit a place in Oahu, you cannot stay on the Big Island. Therefore, you need a resort that’s on the island and caters to all your needs.
#1 – Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa
Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa, is really one of the best on this list. It sits on the beautiful Oahu shores of Hawaii, it’s as if Disney magic and a tropical paradise are merged here.
It’s just unbelievable how well this resort assimilates Hawaiian culture blended with Disney charm—it’s not over-the-top Disney but just enough to give you that magic. And if you’re traveling with the kids, then Aulani has much in store.
For me, it was all the pools. There’s a lazy river that one could just float around on, soaking up the sunshine, as well as an infinity pool right over the ocean that’s Instagram gold!
Not to forget is the private lagoon, where the water is calm and crystal clear and wonderful for paddleboarding or relaxing on the sand.
The food? Amazing. From Hawaiian-inspired dishes at ‘AMA’AMA to fresh seafood and locally sourced ingredients, to family-friendly buffets at Makahiki where you can even meet Mickey and friends dressed in their island outfits.
Really making this trip special, though, is how Aulani celebrates Hawaiian culture. There are storytelling sessions, hula lessons, and even learning about the history and legends of the island, to which your kids will connect a lot deeper to the place.
